Raunds Town, bottom of the United Counties League, look set to lose key players over the next few weeks after telling the squad they can no longer afford to pay them!
Leading scorer, Danny Frid, had already left the club before the news broke this week, deciding to join Long Buckby. Others seem certain to join him in leaving the Shopmates as other UCL clubs look to take advantage of Raund's financial crisis.
Manager Colin Ridgway however still seems confident that the majority of the first team players will stay at Kiln Park. He said after last night's 6-1 home defeat in the Hillier Cup by Brackley Town that the players want to stay with Raunds Town even though no more wages will be paid this season.
