Following the sudden resignation of the 1st Team Manager Mick Bayley, who has moved to Hednesford Town as 1st Team Coach, ‘The Mikes’ Board moved swiftly to get a replacement in place. Given the short period remaining of the close season and the organisation required during that period it was decided to go for some continuity.
Interviews were held at the weekend following which, Rob Mallaband was appointed to the post. Rob previously succeeded Alan Parsons for the 2004/2005 season but had to resign the post in October 2006 due to pressures in his business. After a sabbatical of twelve months or more Rob was once again able to involve football in his life and helped Walsall Wood out of a difficult situation.
After a most successful season for Boldmere’s 1st, Reserve and Youth teams during the 2007/2008 season Rob will be looking to build on this during the forthcoming campaign.
