Highgate's changing rooms and social club are looking a little run down and don't match the standard of the rest of the set up, however the club have a dedicated team of committee members and officials who keep the club running on a day to day basis.

Highgate United were formed in 1948 and moved to Tythe Barn Lane in 1964.
One of the saddest moments in their history was the death of player, centre half, Tony Allden during a home game in 1967 against Enfield in the FA Amateur Cup when he was struck by lightening. 31,500 people turned up for the replay of the abandoned game at Villa Park!

The average gate for a game in the Midland Combination this season is 39 so Highgate are holding there own. A sadly low average for a league with some excellent grounds, ambitious clubs and a decent standard of football. However Brereton Social did attract 212 fans for their game with Heather St. John earlier this season.
